Getty Images, Inc., the world's leading creator and distributor of visual content and other digital media, today launched "SmartSections," and "SmartTopics," the latest products in a suite of Getty Images' SmartMedia products powered by Daylife, the world's leading intelligent content services provider.
The SmartMedia solutions suite launched in late 2009 with the introduction of the SmartGalleries product, which provides a comprehensive photo publishing toolset including photo gallery pages and widgets, drawing from the award-winning editorial imagery from Getty Images.
Building on this technology, SmartTopics and SmartSections are streamlined tools that allow editors to navigate a wide spectrum of media to source, manage and compose content such as featured articles, images, tweets, quotes, timelines and videos. Publishers, editors and bloggers can now effortlessly curate sections, powered by Daylife's proprietary auto-filling technology, enabling real-time, up-to-the-second sections with minimal effort.
"Our media and publishing customers are always looking for easy ways to create content and develop premium sponsorship opportunities," said Michael Teaster, senior vice president sales, North America & Asia Pacific Getty Images. "Through our partnership with Daylife, our customers can now create a more engaging experience with their readers through more media on their sites than ever before."
SmartTopics are fully customizable topic pages of rich media that pivot around a certain piece of information, such as a person or organization, product, sports team, issue or illness. Each topic page features a client's media together with other content from the web, including images, tweets, quotes, timelines, videos and articles from other sources.
SmartSections are the most editorially efficient way to create and manage entire sections on a number of topics. Where SmartTopics provide information on one topic (for example, President Obama), SmartSections are customizable sections that cover a broad area (for example, U.S. Presidents). Users will also be able to easily share content over Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and other social platforms, as well as email content right from the page.
As with all products in the SmartMedia Solutions suite of products, these new products offer simple, seamless integration with existing websites, as SmartSections and SmartTopics can be tailored to match any interface or branding requirements. A fully hosted solution, these products are a simple way to increase content offered through an infinitely clickable user experience without additional IT, bandwidth, or hosting demands.
"We are pleased to work with Getty Images' world-class organization to provide their customers with time-efficient tools and high quality content that help them better serve their audiences," said Upendra Shardanand, Chief Executive Officer of Daylife.
Getty Images and Daylife will continue to integrate their leading content and technology to introduce solutions and products that further simplify and enhance the digital publishing process and results for companies, events and organizations.
