Qld: Christmas is season of joy .. and domestic violence
Christmas brings joy to many .. but sadly the Christmas-New Year period is also the
time of the year which sees a peak in domestic and family violence incidents.
The Queensland Police Service is asking people to take a stand against domestic and
family violence during the holiday period.
Domestic and Family Violence Unit Acting Inspector JON LEWIS says people should be
mindful about increased pressures in the lead-up to Christmas and to look for the early
warning signs.
He's encouraging people to seek support to ensure the festive period is a happy one for everyone.
