NSW: Pedestrian dies on Hume Highway

SYDNEY, April 2 AAP - A pedestrian walking along the Hume Highway in NSW was killed
when he was thrown several metres after being hit by a car.

The man was hit as he walked along the Hume Highway, in the Southern Highlands. The
impact threw him several metres onto a median strip, police said.

The 32-year-old Mittagong man died about 12.15am (AEST) after he was hit by a Ford
sedan, being driven north along the highway near Sutton Forest.

The pedestrian, who was seen walking in the northbound lanes of the highway by a number
of motorists, died at the scene.

Police have spoken with the 46-year-old male driver of the car.

Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man died yesterday when the truck he was driving went over
an embankment on the Hume Highway, near the town of Gunning, and fell 15 metres to the
road below.
