NSW: Bird convicted of recklessly wounding girlfriend
Former NRL star GREG BIRD has been convicted of recklessly wounding his girlfriend
and of lying to police.
The 24-year-footballer .. who now plays in France .. had denied glassing KATIE MILLIGAN
in the face during an argument in their Cronulla apartment in Sydney's south in August
2008.
In Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court today Magistrate ROGER CLISDELL has found him
guilty of one count of reckless wounding and one count of making a false accusation to
police .. after he blamed the incident on his flatmate.
BIRD had already pleaded guilty to a public mischief offence.
