NSW: Man in court on terrorism charges =2
Attorney-General PHILIP RUDDOCK has confirmed the charge is the first made under the
federal government's counter-terrorism laws.
Mr RUDDOCK's defended proposed new ASIO powers, expected to pass in the Senate today,
which limits the media's ability to report on terrorist investigations.
He's asked on ABC radio whether people would like an investigation into an activity
which could take the lives of Australians to be compromised because journalist wanted
to get a good story.
