Vic: Hulls discharged from hospital
MELBOURNE, April 2 AAP - Victorian Attorney-General Rob Hulls was today back at home
after two weeks in hospital with what doctors called a rare inflammatory condition.
"Mr Hulls was discharged from the Royal Melbourne Hospital at the weekend after medical
staff were satisfied of his response to treatment," the hospital said in a statement today.
Doctors carried out tests for 11 days before finally diagnosing Mr Hulls's condition
on Friday as "a rare inflammatory condition".
Specifics of the illness were withheld at Mr Hulls's request following the diagnosis.
Mr Hulls was due to return to work in three weeks, a government spokeswoman said today.
No more details regarding his illness were available.
"He is recovering at home and treatment is continuing," the spokeswoman said.
The illness is not infectious or contagious, the hospital has said.
The passage through parliament of key legislation increasing the rights of gay and
lesbian couples has been delayed while Mr Hulls has been ill.
