Qld: PS cuts trigger slanging match
Queensland's political leaders have exchanged personal insults in a parliamentary debateabout public sector cuts.
Opposition leader MIKE HORAN has described Premier PETER BEATTIE as a big sook.
And Mr BEATTIE'S accused Opposition MPs of being village idiots and called Mr HORANthe rudest Opposition leader in the parliament's history.
He's also attacked the Queensland Public Sector Union as a National Party affiliatefor releasing a statement to the opposition before the public.
The opposition tabled the statement criticising the government during debate on itsplan to offer voluntary early retirement to 2,000 public servants.
The union says it doesn't trust the government and the Opposition says services willbe jeopardised.
The Premier later backed down on his criticism of the union, saying he didn't likebeing ambushed.
